About Us

Forest Hill Capital was founded in 2014 with the vision of strategically investing in multifamily real estate along Toronto's developing Eglinton LRT. Since 2014, Forest Hill Capital has made multiple key acquisitions, established a sophisticated method of managing and developing commercial real estate investments, and formed a constellation of industry-leading advisors and partners to consult and work with. A value creator, Forest Hill Capital is actively growing its portfolio of purpose built multifamily investments, and acquiring-and-converting office and other higher cap rate classes to multifamily.

Michael Domb

Michael Domb is an entrepreneur, investor, and business strategist with over a decade of experience in technology, finance, and business strategy. He began his career in venture capital in 2013, specializing in SaaS and FinTech investments, before founding Forest Hill Capital, a real estate investment firm focused on acquiring and developing multifamily real estate in Toronto.

Beyond his entrepreneurial ventures, Michael has held senior financial and strategic advisory roles at Check Point (NASDAQ: CHKP), one of the world’s largest cybersecurity companies. There, he was influential in shaping the company’s $3B global go-to-market strategy and spearheading initiatives to drive revenue growth to $5B.

With deep expertise in financial strategy, sales and marketing, and venture investing, Michael brings a unique founder’s perspective—having operated on both sides of the VC table and within major enterprises. His global network and hands-on approach make him a valuable advisor to companies striving to scale.

Michael holds a B.A. from the Hebrew University, has completed coursework at Harvard, and is currently pursuing an MBA at Columbia. He resides in New York City.

Investment Thesis

Based on extensive quantitative analysis, Forest Hill's investment thesis focuses on investing at, or within a close proximity to, future subway intersections. These locations will become more accessible to consumers who will then drive rental demand in these newly gentrified areas. By investing in multifamily real estate, Forest Hill mitigates economic risk associated with other classes of real estate. This is based on the philosophy that residential real estate is a necessity,  while the demand for other classes of real estate are influenced by economic cycles. A value-creator, Forest Hill actively develops its portfolio of purpose-built multifamily assets to maximize revenue and Net Operating Income (NoI), and converts purpose-built office and other higher cap rate assets to multifamily.
